West Michigan is full of amazing women who can be celebrated.

Fewer organizations are voicing that truth louder than the YWCA, which yesterday announced the honorees for its 2015 YWCA Tribute Awards.

The annual YWCA Tribute Awards, one of the nonprofit’s most-popular events, have honored more than 175 women who have made an impact in their community since 1977.

The awards honor seven women in multiple categories: advocacy; arts; community service; professions; sports, fitness and wellness; business, management, industry and labor; as well as one single student honoree/YWCA Judy Lloyd Scholarship recipient.

A luncheon honoring this year’s winners will be held in Grand Rapids on Nov. 17 from noon-1:30 p.m. at DeVos Place, at 303 Monroe Ave. NW.

Tickets are $60 each, and people can buy them online.
