The beer that set a brewery on the right path has a new packaging format.

Founders Brewing Co.’s Dirty Bastard Scotch ale will be released in 12 packs of 12-ounce cans next week in the taproom and across the brewery’s entire distribution footprint.

The suggested retail price for the 12 pack will be $17.99.

“Dirty Bastard is the beer that put us on the right path,” said Dave Engbers, co-founder, Founders Brewing Co. “It’s the beer that gave us the confidence to brew beer for enthusiasts like ourselves instead of trying to brew beers for others.”

The beer is a year-round product for Founders and is one of the first beers that helped save Founders from bankruptcy and put the brewery at the front of the craft beer movement.

Grand Rapids-based Founders distributes two other beers in cans: Centennial IPA and All Day IPA.
