The Rockford-based footwear maker Wolverine Worldwide has announced the appointment of a new president to one of its divisions.

Wolverine Worldwide said last week that Tom Kennedy will now lead its Apparel and Accessories business for the company’s portfolio of global lifestyle and performance brands.

In the newly created position, Kennedy will oversee all of the company's Apparel and Accessories initiatives around the world.

Kennedy will report directly to Blake Krueger, Wolverine Worldwide's chairman, CEO and president.

Krueger said Wolverine continues to devote resources to building its global lifestyle brands, and said Kennedy brings a “strong consumer-centric background” to the position.

Consumer background

Kennedy comes to Wolverine from the Fossil brand with the Fossil Group, where he served most recently as EVP and earlier led the Fossil retail group and wholesale business.

Previously, Kennedy was a division president at PacSun, VP of U.S. Apparel at Nike and held various senior roles with Gap.

Kennedy received a bachelor’s degree from King’s College and also studied apparel and textile manufacturing at Philadelphia University.
