A West Michigan company is considered one of the top 50 places to work in the country.

Kalamazoo-based Stryker, a medical device maker, ranks No. 47 in the 2016 ranking of the “50 Best Places to Work,” which is part of the 8th-annual Employees’ Choice Awards by Glassdoor, a jobs and recruiting marketplace.

GE Aviation, which also has a West Michigan presence, ranks No. 41.

The awards are based on feedback provided by employees of companies with 1,000 or more employees.

The ranking is based on a 5.0 scale and employee reviews on the Glassdoor website. Companies were required to have at least 75 reviews in the past year to qualify.

Bain & Company, Google, Apple and Chevron have been on Glassdoor’s ranking all eight years.
