Hospital foundation hires director

A hospital foundation has hired a new director with several years of philanthropy experience.

Metro Health Hospital Foundation announced recently that it has hired Jennifer Wilson, who will be responsible for fundraising, donor relations and foundation development.

Wilson has held a variety of development and philanthropy positions in West Michigan, including two development positions with Metro Health Hospital Foundation earlier in her career.

Most recently, she was vice president of development and brand for Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore.

She also has held positions with Davenport University, Hospice of Michigan and Paws With A Cause.

In addition to her background in philanthropy, Wilson also has served as editor-in-chief at Women’s Lifestyle Magazine and “do good” editor at Rapid Growth media.

She also ran a nonprofit consulting firm, Grand Development Associates, which is focused on fundraising, strategic planning and board governance for charitable organizations.

Wilson is an active member of the Grand Rapids community serving on multiple boards and committees over the years, including Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, Better Business Bureau of Western Michigan, Davenport University, Grand Rapids Young Professionals and Women and Girls Lead.
