Material handling company names director of project management
A supplier of material handling equipment and software for distribution and fulfillment centers has hired a new director of project management.
Columbus, Ohio-based VARGO said last month that it has named Scott Shaw to the role.
Shaw will be based in VARGO’s Grand Rapids office.
Shaw will assist in managing system projects and leading the project management office.
His goal will be to ensure that VARGO delivers projects under budget and ahead of schedule, enhances the customer experience and increases the satisfaction and results that VARGO customers receive.
Prior to joining VARGO, Shaw was a regional account manager and a senior project manager for Dematic North America, a company that provides material handling solutions.
He also worked as a business development manager for Vanderlande Industries, a company that supplies warehouse automation solutions and builds baggage-handling systems for airports and sorting systems for parcel and postal services.
Shaw attended the University of Texas and the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he studied mechanical engineering.
VARGO provides material handling system integration, warehouse execution software and equipment for major distribution and fulfillment centers.
The company said it works with retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers and direct-to-consumer distributors to “improve material handling operations and move beyond traditional distribution methodologies.”
