Landscaping company moves operation
A commercial landscaping company in the area is moving to a six-acre site in the city.
Procare Landscape Management is in the process of moving from its Byron Center location to Grand Rapids, at 1505 Steele Ave. SW, near Hall Street SW and U.S. 131.
The move is needed because of Procare’s constant growth since it began operation in 1989, according to Jason Miller, business development representative, Procare.
The Grand Rapids site has been vacant for nearly two years, since Benteler Automotive moved from the site, but the area “checks everything off the list” for Procare, Miller said.
The location closer to downtown Grand Rapids is beneficial for Procare, as Miller said it can service commercial clients from Wayland to Rockford.
“It’s an ideal fit, being right off the highway,” Miller said. “It’ll allow us to continue to grow in an area that seems to be bouncing back and re-investing in itself.”
Miller said the move is moving along as the technology infrastructure within the building is being updated and more than 20,000 yards of bark mulch is being moved.
Procare employs 40 full-time and 100 seasonal employees.
“Our goal is to build a one-stop shop for commercial clients,” Miller said.
