Ad industry names ADDY winners

The American Advertising Federation of West Michigan has celebrated the region’s best work at its annual ADDY Awards ceremony.

Gold, silver and bronze American Advertising Award winners were recognized during a celebration held at UICA in downtown Grand Rapids, which was attended by more than 300 members of the advertising industry and their clients.

West Michigan professional entrants earned 34 gold, 29 silver and 17 bronze ADDY awards.

Entrants in the student category from Kendall College of Art and Design, Baker College of Muskegon, Ferris State University and Grand Valley State University took home 13 gold, 14 silver and 13 bronze student ADDY awards.

The night's biggest winners included Extra Credit Projects, which received a total of 12 awards, Chop & Hue, which earned 10 awards, PB&J, which took home 10 awards, Meijer, which received nine awards, and The Image Group, which walked away with six awards.

Rob Jackson, principal and creative director of Extra Credit Projects, was the 2016 recipient of the chapter's annual Silver Medal Award.

The Silver Medal Award program was established in 1959 by the national federation to recognize men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry's standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern.
