Brewery releases limited-edition porter
A local brewery is releasing a limited-edition brew this weekend.
Perrin Brewing Co. will release its No Rules Vietnamese Imperial Porter on Saturday at its taproom in Comstock Park, at 5910 Comstock Park Dr. NW.
The beer is a 15-percent imperial porter, brewed with coconut, cinnamon and turbinado sugar, before aging in bourbon barrels.
No Rules was one of the “World’s Top New Beer Releases” of 2015 in RateBeer.com’s annual rankings, and Draft Magazine has ranked No Rules its No. 1 beer for winter sipping.
A limited number of 22-ounce bottles will be sold for $16.99 a bottle at the taproom.
Perrin Pub Club members can begin purchasing bottles at 10 a.m., and the general public can start purchasing bottles at 11 a.m.
No Rules will also be on tap throughout the day at the taproom.
No Rules will head into Perrin distribution on March 28.
Perrin Brewing Co. was founded in 2012 and brewed more than 14,000 barrels in 2015, the first year of new ownership.
The production output was a 40-percent increase over 2014, with growth in 2016 expected to hit 25,000 barrels, owner Keith Klopcic told the Business Journal in February.
A barrel is about 31 gallons.
The company began distribution to Colorado this week, which is home to Oskar Blues Brewery, a partner in the new ownership and part of the Massachusetts-based Fireman Capital Partners portfolio of breweries.
