An associate at a local private equity firm has been named an emerging leader in the mergers and acquisitions field.

Grand Rapids-based Blackford Capital said yesterday that associate Joseph Presutti was selected by the publication M&A Advisor to receive an Emerging Leaders Award, signifying him as a rising star in the world of private equity.

Presutti was instrumental in the merger of Amtech Corporation and McClarin Plastics, which was named 2015’s Deal of the Year by M&A Advisor.

"Since joining Blackford in 2010, Joe has developed a broad skill set that includes expertise within deal sourcing, negotiation, debt and equity financing and portfolio company management," said Martin Stein, founder and managing director, Blackford Capital.

"Over the past six years, he has played a key role in numerous transactions, including platform acquisitions, mergers, add-on acquisitions and re-capitalizations. Joe is a crucial member of the Blackford team and is more than deserving of this recognition."
