A café in town is seeking approval for a liquor license from the Grand Rapids City Commission.

Lyon Street Café, at 617 Lyon St. NE, has requested a resort liquor license from the city.

The request will be voted on at tonight’s commission meeting.

Lyon Street Café opened in November 2014 and is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Sunday.

The café serves a variety of coffees and teas, as well as pastries and baked goods.

The business is owned by the Chamelly family, the same family which owns the neighboring businesses, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Baking Company.
