An auto supplier in the region is hosting a job fair next week to fill 30 new positions in support of the company’s growth.

LG Chem Michigan, or LGCMI, said yesterday that it will host a job fair for applicants on Tuesday at Michigan Works! in Holland, at 121 Clover St.

The job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Open positions primarily include technical operators, starting at $13.50 an hour, as well as maintenance technicians, production engineers and supervisors.

Prospective candidates should plan to meet with members of LGCMI’s staff to learn more about opportunities available at the company.

Candidates are asked to come prepared with a copy of a recent resume.

Applicants can also apply online and at the plant’s security office if they can’t attend the job fair.

LGCMI currently employs about 400 workers.

Battery demand

The new positions are the result of increased battery demand.

LGCMI said it supplies numerous automakers with electronic vehicle batteries, including GM, Ford, Renault, Hyundai/Kia, Volvo, Audi and Daimler among others.
