College foundation names executive director
A woman who led a recent $58-million fundraising campaign is the new vice president and executive director of a local college’s foundation.
Aquinas College said last week that it has named Patricia “Trish” Castiglione to the role at the Aquinas College Foundation, making permanent the position she’s held on an interim basis since last October.
Castiglione will oversee and work with staff to raise funds to support scholarships, service learning, technology, international programs, campus life and other campaigns.
“These are exciting times at Aquinas as we continue with our campaign to invest in our people, programs and facilities,” Aquinas College President Juan Olivarez said. “To have someone like Trish, who is well-known in our Aquinas community and represents our core values, means the foundation is in good hands.”
Castiglione said she’s “excited to continue to work with our generous donors and provide oversight on projects in the foundation.”
“I’m proud to work at Aquinas,” she said. “It’s a place with a lot of meaning to me. Everything I do is for the students, and I show up every day to work for them.”
Castiglione is a graduate of Aquinas College with bachelor’s degrees in business and communications,
In her interim leadership role at the foundation, she coordinated a $58-million comprehensive fundraising campaign that includes the $4 million-construction of Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel and a new science center.
Previously, Castiglione served as Aquinas’ director of major and planned gifts, where she worked since 2013, as well as director of annual giving at Grand Rapids Community College and VP at TeMON Consulting.
