Pharmacy moves into Medical Mile
A pharmacy by a national chain is moving into the Medical Mile corridor.
Community, by Walgreens received its certificate of occupancy last month and is now completing its 2,000-square-foot space in Grand Rapids, at 555 Michigan St. NE, according to Third Coast Development Principal Max Benedict.
Community, by Walgreens is a “true pharmacy” and not a convenience store, offering prescriptions and select specialty medical products and not household staples, such as groceries and bathroom products.
The Walgreens concept is the retail tenant in one of two mixed-use projects at Michigan Street NE and Union Avenue NE by Grand Rapids-based Third Coast Development.
The building at 555 Michigan St. NE also has eight apartment units.
Construction is being finished on the other building, at 601 Michigan St. NE, which will feature 18 apartments and a retail space that’s about 3,500 square feet.
The two buildings are the most recent developments in Third Coast Development’s Mid Towne Village, which also includes the Hampton Inn and Suites, Women’s Health Center, Park Place Condominiums and a mixed-use office building with The Omelette Shoppe and El Barrio as retail anchors.
