An Urban Outfitters brand for women is moving into the West Michigan market via a shopping center in town.

Grand Rapids-based CWD Real Estate Investment said today that Free People has signed a lease at Breton Village in Grand Rapids.

The “Bohemian chic” retailer will occupy a 3,679-square-foot space between lululemon and Evereve.

The interior build out is expected to start in September and be completed “around the holidays.”

Free People sells a variety of items, including women’s clothing, shoes, accessories, swimwear, intimates and cosmetics, as well as skincare, beauty and wellness products.

The retailer also operates a store in Troy.

“Free People offers a very distinctive line of apparel and accessories for women and beautifully complements the retail mix we’ve been developing at Breton Village,” said Scott Wierda, CWD managing partner and co-owner of Breton Village. “We expect that Free People’s opening will pave the way for us to attract additional fashion stores, specialty stores and restaurants.”

CWD is the leasing and property manager for the 220,000-square-foot Breton Village shopping center.

Along with Free People, CWD has brought several other first-to-market retailers to Breton Village, including as Anthropologie, lululemon, West Elm and Evereve.
