A firm is planning an 11-unit condo project in a neighborhood downtown.

Grand Rapids-based CopperRock Construction is headed to the Grand Rapids Planning Commission on Sept. 22, seeking approval for the project in Grand Rapids’ Belknap Lookout neighborhood, at 613 Fairview Ave. NE.

The property owner of the project site, at 611, 613 and 613 1/2 Fairview Ave. NE, is Saginaw-based SMC Ventures, according to CopperRock’s application to the city.

The site currently contains three homes, a garage and a shed.

The proposed project would redevelop the site into three buildings with the 11 condo units and 18 parking spaces off a private drive from Fairview Avenue NE.

The first building facing Fairview Avenue NE “will resemble the existing structure, so as not to disrupt the urban street wall,” the application says.

The rest of the buildings and garages will be hidden by the street.

The project’s site plan was by Nederveld, and the architecture work was by J. Visser Design in Grand Rapids.
