A brewery in the region has brewed three new limited-edition variations of its bestselling beer.

New Holland Brewing Co. said last week it will release Dragon’s Milk Reserve with Vanilla Chai and Dragon’s Milk Reserve Coconut Rum Barrel this month. The Holland-based brewery also will release a draft-only brew, Dragon’s Milk: Brewers Select.

The two flavored variations of the stout will be available at retailers across New Holland’s distribution footprint in four packs of 12-ounce bottles.

“It’s a great time to be a Dragon’s Milk fan, that’s for sure,” said Brett VanderKamp, president, New Holland Brewing Co.

The Brewers Select variation is aged in “handpicked” barrels from distilleries, because they’ll add “more-than-usual barrel character and carry that forward into the beer,” VanderKamp said.

“This variation is a special treat for bourbon lovers and those looking for more flavor in their beer,” he said.

Dragon’s Milk was first brewed by New Holland in 2001.

Along with its Holland taproom and production facility, the company recently opened The Knickerbocker in Grand Rapids, at 417 Bridge St. NW. It is a restaurant and taproom with an on-site brewery, distillery and community rental space.
