A three-part fall speaker series on complementary and alternative health treatments will kick off on Tuesday.

Grand Rapids-based Universal Health Solutions, which is focused on providing education on integrative health care options, is hosting the free series, which will take place on Oct. 11, 18, and 25 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids.

Universal Health Solutions is a member-based organization applying for nonprofit status, according to its website.

The speaker series is partly designed to introduce West Michigan residents to local health care professionals.

The series will address various topics: acupuncture, massage therapy, mindfulness, neurofeedback and more.

People can learn how certain treatments can help with the symptoms and side effects of treatments for cancer, as well as attention, stress and anxiety disorders and why a healthy gut is important to overall health.

People can register for the events online.
