An annual talent competition is hosting auditions for its upcoming multi-day event.

GR’s Big Talent, which is produced by the nonprofit GR After Hours, said auditions will take place from noon-5 p.m. on Sunday.

Audition registration is required, and people can register online.

The first round of auditions will determine the top 20 performers who will return for the final round on Nov. 12.

Auditions and the final round will be held at Grand Rapids Ballet’s Peter Martin Wege Theatre in Grand Rapids, at 341 Ellsworth SW.

This year’s prizes are $1,000 for first place, $500 for second and $250 for third.

Winning performers will be featured throughout the calendar year at various locations throughout Grand Rapids. Performance locations will be determined based on the performer's schedule and the partnering locations.

The cost to register for auditions is $35 for a single performer and $50 for two or more performers.

Finale tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Organizers said the last two finales have sold out.

GR After Hours seeks to build community between the distinctive restaurants and cultural centers of downtown Grand Rapids.
