A Grand Rapids construction firm has a new president.

Bazzani announced Peter Skornia as its new president yesterday, effective immediately.

Skornia succeeds Guy Bazzani, who will remain CEO.

Skornia has been with Bazzani Building Company since 2014, serving as VP. Skornia focuses on developing business and construction management.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity as president of Bazzani Building Company to continue the brand that Guy has created in West Michigan,” Skornia said. “I’m confident that we’ll continue to succeed and grow.”

A graduate of Michigan State University in civil engineering, Skornia has worked with companies such as Progressive AE, Steelcase, Genesis Building Company and Workstage.

Previously, Skornia was a private consultant for eight years.

Throughout his career, Skornia has worked on projects in more than 25 states, ranging from new construction and renovations in office, residential, education and medical industries, with projects costing up to more than $100 million.
