A downtown restaurant has undergone a rebranding to better demonstrate its new initiative to “incorporate more community events.”

Bartertown Diner in Grand Rapids, at 6 Jefferson Ave. SE, which uses local and seasonal ingredients, is now Garden Diner & Café.

As part of its new focus, the restaurant will develop a new catering menu to “meet the needs of the community,” while also hosting documentary nights, community yoga and local guest speakers.

The restaurant said its mission will remain the same, however: “a no-tip-restaurant, providing living wages to staff and helping those in need with a healthy meal.”

“We will continue to service almost entirely Michigan grown and organic products, as well as invest our energy into developing our community garden and outreach programs,” said Thad Cummings, owner, Garden Diner & Café.
