A phone repair company has settled into a store on campus at a local college.

Genius Phone Repair open a “store within a store” at the Grand Valley State University Laker Store in The Marketplace in Allendale, at 1 Campus Dr., just before the fall term. The store is open to the public as well.

The location is Genius Phone Repair’s 18th store in Michigan and Indiana.

The kiosk in the Laker Store provides quick repair options for phones and other mobile devices, primarily touchscreen replacements.

Genius Phone Repair opened its first location in 2011, following the company’s founding as a home-based business in 2009.

Genius Phone Repair owners and GVSU alumni, Garry VonMyhr, Steve Barnes and Jordan Notenbaum, also operate two other technology companies — a wholesale phone parts operation and a K-12 computer repair company — operating in four states and employing more than 200 people.
