A downtown entertainment venue opening this winter has revealed its first lineup of concerts.

The $16-million 20 Monroe Live in Grand Rapids — which is owned by The Gilmore Collection and managed by Live Nation’s House of Blues Entertainment — is set to open on Feb. 1. The site is connected to The B.O.B.

The venue announced today a lineup of concerts from Umphrey’s McGee to Lynyrd Skynyrd to Peter Frampton, beginning Feb. 1 and continuing through May.

The club said earlier this fall the venue will have a moveable stage that can shift capacity between 1,200 to 2,580, as well as a VIP room upstairs that will feature seats with the best vantage point, a private bar and walk-out patio.

Live Nation promoter Josh Newman said the organizers are proud to have snagged such a wide-ranging lineup for their initial concert series.

“We’re excited to announce so many amazing and diverse artists to help us commemorate our grand opening,” he said. “There really is a little something for everyone to check out and experience at our intimate new venue.”

The Gilmore Collection CEO Greg Gilmore said his dream of opening a music club in Grand Rapids has been 20 years in the making and is finally coming to fruition.

“With our announcement today, we’ve proven we can attract national and international touring artists to a world-class venue that will serve Grand Rapids for many years to come,” Gilmore said.

Tickets for all shows go on sale at 10 a.m. on Nov. 18, via 20monroelive.com, livenation.com and ticketmaster.com

A second round of concerts will be announced on Cyber Monday.

The venue also will host a job fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 3 at The B.O.B., which is expected to add 100 jobs to the community.
