A local florist is settling into its new storefront on the West Side.

Posh Petals hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday for its new space in Grand Rapids, at 806 Bridge St. NW.

The business is leasing the space from a private owner and worked with Grand Rapids-based M Retail Solutions to find the space.

Terms of the lease were not disclosed.

Posh Petals specializes in custom floral arrangements. It also offers online orders and design classes.

Posh Petals Owner Elizabeth Schenk said the business moved from its former 2,100-square-foot location in the city, at 2150 Plainfield Ave. NE, as the site was sold, and the leasing options weren’t agreeable for the already maxed-out space.

“Turned out to be a blessing, because we love the new space with how open it is, the windows and the location,” Schenk said.

The West Side space is more than 3,000 square feet and features tin ceilings, a custom-built cooler, design tables and large windows.

“In our new space, we are excited to keep our retail area focused on our beautiful blooms, some really cool containers and lush, green plants and succulents,” Schenk said.
