A new 11-acre neighborhood is planned for a lakeshore development.

Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor and St. Joseph said last week it will develop Harbor Village.

The new neighborhood is set to feature 30 homes and 48 townhomes by next summer.

“Since inception, Harbor Shores was designed to help connect the way people live,” Harbor Shores President Jeff Noel said. “Virtually every property has a view of the waterfront and connects to walking paths that lead to restaurants, microbreweries, beaches and kayaking.”

Each home within Harbor Village will include a view of either the Paw Paw River, St. Joseph River, The Marina at Harbor Shores or Harbor Shores Golf Club.

The development will feature homes with prices from the mid $300,000s to mid $500,000s, with square footage ranging from 1,700-2,700.

It will also feature townhomes with prices from the high $200,000s to high $500,000s, with square footage ranging from 1,600 to 2,700.

Homebuyers will be able to reserve lots next spring. Model homes will be available for viewing by next fall.

As with other neighborhoods within Harbor Shores, Harbor Village residents will have access to the golf course, Grille at Harbor Shores Clubhouse, Renaissance Athletic Club, The Marina at Harbor Shores and North Pier Brewing Co.

The neighborhood is also connected to the Benton Harbor arts district via a pedestrian bridge.

The Inn at Harbor Shores and its restaurant, day spa and conference center are also nearby.

Harbor Shores

Harbor Shores is a nonprofit real estate development owned by public and private groups, including the Whirlpool Foundation.

The development consists of 530 acres and features a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.

Harbor Shores said since it first opened in 2010, three of its neighborhoods – Trailside, Hideaway and Fairways – are more than 80-percent full.

There will be nearly 200 home sites in the development, including Harbor Village.
