Developers building $16.4M apartment complex

A pair of partners have started work on a $16.4-million apartment complex in the region.

Partners Chad Bush, a Grand Haven-based developer, and Main Street Capital Group have broken ground on Apartments at Sauk Trail, a nine building, 210-unit complex on a 16-acre site in Coldwater, off of Carriage Circle Drive and Anderson Drive.

Ninety-six units under construction. Work on the rest of the units will begin next spring.

The 71,238-square-foot apartment complex will help provide housing in Coldwater, as a $250 million, 600,000-square-foot facility for Clemens Food Group is built in the city.

Firms on the project

Grand Rapids-based CopperRock Construction is the project’s contractor.

Oppenhuizen Architects is the project’s architect.

Layout

The apartment complex will feature eight 24-unit buildings and one 18-unit building.

The units will be a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments. Lease rates are being finalized.

The complex will also have a 1,600-square-foot clubhouse with a community room, fitness center and pool.
