A lithium-ion battery supplier is hosting a job fair next week for up to 40 open positions.

Holland-based LG Chem Michigan, or LGCMI, said yesterday it will hold a job fair on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Michigan Works! in Holland, at 121 Clover St.

Open positions include technical operators, starting at $13.50 an hour, production engineers and journeymen electricians.

Applicants should come in business casual attire and bring a resume.

Those unable to attend the career fair can apply online.

LGCMI makes large lithium-ion polymer batteries for electric vehicle and energy storage applications.

The company continues to grow in response to increased demand for battery technology from the auto industry.

For instance, LGCMI recently began production of batteries for the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid.

It is a wholly owned subsidiary of LG Chem, a South Korean company that has global operations focused on petrochemical products, IT, electronic materials and energy solutions. LG Chem is part of the LG Group.
