A local marketing firm has acquired another company in the region.

The Image Shoppe, or TIS, a marketing firm in Grand Rapids, said last month it acquired Black Lake Studio & Press in Holland, a marketing firm.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Greg Smith, founder and creative director of Black Lake Studio & Press, will be a strategist at TIS.

Employees of the acquired company will not be retained.

“We brought on Greg’s existing clients,” said Rob McCarty, CEO, The Image Shoppe. “We also brought on process in terms of their proprietary process and procedures.”

TIS said Smith brings years of experience in brand marketing, client management and publishing to the TIS team.

TIS will maintain the client relationships that were established at Black Lake.

“It’s a good partnership for us,” McCarty said. “Black Lake has a really strong strategic process set that we thought fit with and enhanced our own process.

“We also really appreciate that Greg has a lot of diverse writing experience, which was very helpful for our team with different types of content. Having another senior person at the agency is a really big step for us in terms of the path we’re headed down now.”
