A golf retailer focused on on-site lessons is moving into West Michigan.

Centennial, Colorado-based GolfTEC will open a 2,036-square-foot storefront in Celebration Village in Grand Rapids, at 2121 Celebration Dr. NE, off East Beltline.

It is the first GolfTEC in the region and is expected to open next spring.

There are three other locations in Michigan, all in the Detroit area.

The golf “improvement center” will feature three hitting bays and modern equipment to help golf games.

Ian Hughes will lead the operation. Hughes is a PGA Certified Professional and Certified Personal Coach and has taught more than 30,000 lessons while with GolfTEC.

The company will be at the West Michigan Golf Show from Feb. 10-12 at DeVos Place, offering free swing analysis.

Broker

CBRE Grand Rapids advisor Jill Langosch helped find the space for the company.

The company signed a long-term lease with Jackson Entertainment.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

GolfTEC

Founded in 1995, GolfTEC has more than 200 centers in four countries.

GolfTEC claims a 96-percent “success rate” in the more than six-million lessons it has taught.
