A Michigan coffee retailer has partnered with a local college to offer reduced tuition to its employees.

East Lansing-based Biggby Coffee said yesterday it is partnering with Davenport University to offer the special rate for eligible degree programs.

Spouses and dependents of employees also qualify for the discounted rate.

The discounted rate and eligible programs were not disclosed today.

“Education is one of the most fundamental things you can have in your life,” said Bob Fish, co-president and CEO, Biggby Coffee. “It’s that one thing that no one can take away from you. The idea of collaborating with Davenport is really monumental.”
