20 Monroe Live opening doors

A $16-million entertainment venue connected to The B.O.B. is opening next week.

20 Monroe Live in downtown Grand Rapids — which is owned by The Gilmore Collection and managed by Live Nation’s House of Blues Entertainment — will open on Wednesday.

The 2,580-capacity venue is kicking off its opening with a series of concerts.

Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue will perform at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

An Umphrey’s McGee show will start at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Lynyrd Skynyrd will play at 8 p.m. on Friday.

And Shinedown will perform at 8 p.m. on Saturday.

All the performances are part of the 20th-anniversary celebration of The B.O.B. and the grand-opening week of 20 Monroe Live.

Tickets for 20 Monroe Live concerts can be purchased without service fees at the venue’s box office, which opens today, at 11 Ottawa Ave. NW. Hours are 12-6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays.

On weekend event days only, the box office will open two hours before the doors open for a show.

Tickets can also be purchased at 20monroelive.com, livenation.com and ticketmaster.com.
