Magazine names broker to Midwest real estate hall of fame
A local commercial real estate broker has been named to a trade magazine’s 2016 hall of fame class.
Colliers West Michigan said this week its EVP and Designated Broker John Kuiper was given a 2016 Midwest Real Estate News Hall of Fame award. The award is given to influential realtors in the Midwest.
With more than 17 years of experience, Colliers said Kuiper has closed more than $750 million in transactions across 18 states and Canada and Mexico.
“My goal is to always do what’s best for West Michigan’s economy and our local community, so it is a true honor to receive this recognition,” Kuiper said. “It’s exciting to be a part of West Michigan’s growth story, and I look forward to continuing to attract regional and national companies that strengthen our community.”
In September, Kuiper closed the $30-million sale of the CrossLake Partners industrial portfolio to California’s Core Realty Holdings and helped Ferris Coffee & Nut find its new 167,000-square-foot facility in the former American Seating building in Grand Rapids, at 601 7th St. NW.
Kuiper has ranked among the top 10 percent of Colliers brokers in North America in 2012, 2013 and 2015. He was also named the 2008 Realtor of the Year by the Commercial Alliance of Realtors of West Michigan.
“John has truly made a positive impact in West Michigan’s real estate industry and our local community,” said Duke Suwyn, CEO, Colliers West Michigan. “This recognition is well-deserved because of his commitment to success and excellence and for maximizing opportunities for our clients.”
