Custom carpet and rug maker acquires company
A pair of local custom carpet and rug makers are joining forces after an acquisition.
Grand Rapids-based Scott Group Studio said yesterday it has acquired Grand Rapids-based PWV Studios Ltd.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
PWV will retain its brand name and be fully integrated within Scott Group Studio.
Paul V’Soske, PWV founder, will stay on with the company as PWV studio director.
Scott Group Studio said the acquisition will allow it to add PWV’s product line to its established Scott Group Custom Carpets line of business aviation products.
PWV-brand products will be rolled out in Scott Group showrooms throughout the remainder of 2017.
The acquisition of PWV is consistent with Scott Group Studio’s mission to deliver a broader set of products to its customer base and expand its markets of focus.
Timothy Hill, COO of Scott Group Studio, noted PWV’s “go-to-market strategy.”
He said PWV works directly from the factory with designers in both the business aviation and architecture and design markets.
“Because of PWVs commitment to making product in the most efficient way possible, quick turnarounds are the norm,” Hill said. “We are excited to bring the PWV brand into Scott Group Studio.”
Paul V’Soske said he’s “energized about this next chapter for PWV.”
In September 2014, Scott Group Studio acquired Hokanson Carpets, a Houston-based maker of high-end rugs and carpets for the residential market.
PWV Studios serves the residential, business aviation, commercial and high-end retail markets with luxury products.
V’Soske and his wife, Carol V’Soske, founded PWV in 1983.
The brand prides itself on “personal, effective and efficient” collaboration with designers and architects to design and produce “stunning, highly textural one-of-a-kind floor coverings.”
Scott Group Studio said Paul V’Soske developed innovative hand-tufting techniques that improve efficiency in the production process, while enhancing textural elements, allowing for faster delivery times.
PWV projects have included corporate headquarters, such as Ford, General Motors and the Coca-Cola Company, U.S. ambassadorial residences in Paris, London and Brussels, historical Frank Lloyd Wright homes and high-end retailers, such as Nordstrom and Ferragamo.
PWV also works with leading business aviation companies.
