A technology firm in the region has expanded into another Michigan market.

Holland-based IT services firm Worksighted said today it opened a 3,000-square-foot office in Wixom, a suburb of Detroit, at 28800 Beck Rd.

The firm is renting the office for two years to accommodate growth and chose Wixom because of its close proximity to current and future clients.

The new office will serve metro Detroit and house on-site service technicians, remote support personnel and account executives.

Four positions have been created and filled, and six more employees are expected to be added this year.

The office will be led by Barry Rice, director of strategic growth, until someone on east side of the state is hired to oversee operations.

The firm said the office will serve several sectors, such as manufacturing, health care, construction, engineering and professional services.

Worksighted already works with several clients in southeast Michigan and will continue to focus on growth in the market with the new office, said Mike Harris, co-founder, Worksighted.

“Growing into southeast Michigan is a natural fit for Worksighted,” Harris said. “The region has a strong manufacturing background, and Oakland County is fast becoming a leader in Michigan’s technology segment. We think it’s a great time to jump in.”

Worksighted was founded in 2000.
