Law firm elects management committee
A local law firm has elected several partners to its management committee.
Grand Rapids-based Mika Meyers said this winter it elected three partners to its three-person management committee for 2017: Douglas Donnell, chair; Ross Leisman; and Ronald Redick.
Senior partners Donnell and Leisman will serve two-year terms, and junior partner Redick will serve a one-year term.
Each committee member may serve two terms — a total of four years for senior partners and two years for junior partners.
Redick and Donnell are serving their last years on the committee, and Leisman may serve another term after his first term ends.
Leisman, who has been a partner at Mika Meyers for 20 years, said the committee has an executive function, overseeing the business aspects of the firm and streamlining and consolidating decision making to make operations run smoothly.
“We manage the business of the firm and practice law full-time,” Leisman said. “We get along well, and it’s an interesting time, because we’re growing and we’ve added several new lawyers. Between that and technology, it’s busy.”
Donnell specializes in environmental law and commercial litigation and has represented public and private sector clients and individuals since 1979.
Leisman focuses on civil litigation, land use and municipal law.
Redick practices municipal, appellate and administrative law, with a focus on zoning litigation, land use and riparian rights litigation and general civil litigation.
Mika Meyers also has offices in Rockford, Caledonia and Manistee.
Founded in 1950, Mika Meyers has 44 attorneys who provide a range of legal services to individuals, families, businesses, municipalities and educational institutions throughout Michigan and nationwide.
