A $9.6-million apartment project in Grand Rapids is finished.

Grand Rapids-based Orion Construction said this week it will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony next Tuesday for its 47-unit Fulton Square, at 1 Carlton Ave. SE.

The land was purchased by John Wheeler, the firm's director of business development, in 2015, and the project is now 75 percent leased, with a yet-to-be-named restaurant tenant signed.

Orion said retailers have expressed interest in the project’s additional retail space.

The two-building development includes 3,500 square feet for a restaurant and another 3,200 square feet for retail.

Firms on the project

Orion Real Estate Solutions, a division of Orion Construction, and SIBSCO, are the project’s major investors.

Sparta-based ChoiceOne Bank financed the project.

Orion Construction broke ground on the project, designed by Grand Rapids-based Concept Design, in February 2016.

Colliers West Michigan began leasing the project in January.
