Developers plot 346-home development
A 346-home, 168-acre development is slated for a town in the region.
North Port Villages is the first phase of a three-phase development in Muskegon Township by Lucky Girls LLC and Tridonn Development Company.
Construction on the detached condos is expected to begin this summer.
The site was once home to Northside Airport and is on East River Road, a mile off of M-120.
There are three “neighborhood” concepts expected in the development, said Linda Boyd, a principal of Three Girls and VP of Tridonn Development Company.
North Port Villages will have 44 home sites on 27 acres and feature five landscaped cul-de-sacs and two parks. The lots start at a third of an acre for $33,900.
Home prices will begin at $225,000, with a 1,400-square-foot minimum, and are separate from lot purchases.
Architects and builders are being interviewed for the homes, and construction of the community’s infrastructure is underway by McCormick Sand.
Four to six spec homes are expected to begin as soon as permitted, hopefully by the end of July, according to Boyd.
Kelly Uganski of RE/MAX Lakeshore will handle sales of the sites.
The second phase is expected to start once the first phase is 50-percent sold.
The developers expect the development to be finished in 12 to 15 years, depending on economic conditions.
