Facebook is partnering with a tech company with a West Michigan presence to train 3,000 people.

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg announced last week the social media giant will work with Detroit-based Grand Circus on 10-week digital marketing boot camps in Michigan, largely in Detroit but also in Grand Rapids.

The training will occur during the next two years, with final details yet to be determined.

“Grand Circus is a wonderful example of a local organization working to give its community access to skills that'll help them succeed,” Sandberg says in a post on her Facebook page.

Facebook will provide funding for Michigan residents to learn coding and social media marketing skills. Applications are not yet being accepted.

A tech training company, Grand Circus is part of Dan Gilbert’s portfolio of companies, which also includes Quicken Loans.
