A brewery in the area is bottling its beer in six-packs for the first time.

Rockford Brewing Company will release six-packs of its Hoplust IPA on Thursday at its taproom in Rockford, at 12 E. Bridge St. NE.

The price in the taproom will be $10.99.

The IPA will find its way into stores through distribution next month in Kent County and the lakeshore, with expansion into the rest of the state to come, said Seth Rivard, co-owner, Rockford Brewing Company.

Hoplust is a West Coast IPA clocking in at 7.1-percent ABV.

Other packaged beers are planned in the future, but no release dates are set, Rivard said.

Rockford Brewing Company opened in 2012.

The brewery has released larger-format bottles for specialty beer releases in the past.
