A promotional products company has finished its new office downtown.

Green Giftz has completed the build out and design of its new 2,700-square-foot office in Grand Rapids, at 532 Ottawa Ave. NW.

The company purchased the space last fall and moved from its former space in the nearby Brass Works Building.

“We wanted a space that was open, warm, inviting and collaborative and also reflected our values,” said Karen Scarpino, owner, Green Giftz.

“As a business owner, I often spend more waking hours at our office than in our home, so I see our office as an extension of home and our employees and customers as family.”

To accomplish the space Scarpino desired, Green Giftz brought in Grand Rapids-based Custer, a workplace design firm.

Custer worked with Grand Rapids-based Lott3Metz Architecture and Grand Rapids-based McGraw Construction to finish the space.

“Green Giftz outgrew their small suite in the Brass Works Building and wanted to carry that inspiring, industrial charm over to their new office on Ottawa,” said Alex Genzink, interior project designer, Custer. “We designed their new space with that same character in mind and used a sophisticated, natural palette that better reflects their brand. Interior elements include mixed materials, light wood grains and vintage-inspired lighting.”

The space features collaborative desks, an open-work café and a sofa in the entryway and also includes rustic features, such as reclaimed barn wood and warehouse windows as wall accents.

Scarpino said the space “works for our employees and inspires them to do great work.”

“The design offers so many positive benefits for our employees, including abundant natural light and team work spaces,” Scarpino said.

Green Giftz plans to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the space on Sept. 21.
