A bank with a large West Michigan presence has promoted a 30-year company vet to regional director.

Debra Van Hevele is the new leader of Comerica Bank’s West Central Wayne region in Michigan.

She'll report to National Retail Banking Director Rhonda Davenport Johnson.

Van Hevele will oversee 90 Comerica locations in west and central Michigan, in addition to select banking centers in Wayne County.

Most recently, Van Hevele served as district manager for Comerica’s Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo markets.

She has been with Comerica since beginning her career as a teller about 30 years ago.

Van Hevele serves on the board for Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women, or GROW, and is one of the founding members of ATHENA WIN.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Western Michigan University and an M.B.A. in finance from Baker College.
