An organization promoting healthy drinking habits has created a "universal" mug club program.

Zeeland-based Better Drinking Culture said yesterday it will launch its Universal Mug Club in August to provide members access to mug club benefits at Certified Partner establishments.

The Universal Mug Club membership will launch with up to seven establishments, and Better Drinking Culture expects to add up to five new partners each month.

A Better Drinking Culture mug will be behind the bar at each establishment for members of the program to enjoy “across the country when they visit BDC’s growing network of Certified Partners.”

A Certified Partner designation from Better Drinking Culture is intended to distinguish breweries, distilleries, bars and restaurants “for putting health and safety of their customers first and promoting quality over quantity.”

Interested consumers can sign up on the waiting list for the program now, and the first 15 people on the waiting list get into the program for free.
