A lakeshore medical device tech startup has closed an oversubscribed $1.125-million capital fundraising round.

Holland-based Genesis Innovation Group LLC, a developer of medical device technologies, has now raised more than $2.35 million since its inception in 2013. The group, comprising medical device industry veterans, currently is working on six new technologies in various stages of development and intends to use the funds to continue growing its portfolio via new product development and strategic product acquisitions.

Genesis is focused on working to help early-stage medical device technologies develop, manufacture, commercialize and distribute their product, in addition to other services provided.

“Genesis Innovation Group has invested in a number of companies and technologies during the past four years, and has facilitated access to follow-on investments for portfolio companies,” Genesis co-founder and chief executive Rob Ball said. “Every person on our team has deep, long-term experience in medical technology and advancing human health, wellness and lowering the cost of health care.

“Our role is to leverage this experience to help our innovative partners reach their goal.”
