A chain of fast-food sub restaurants is rolling out its new look at a location in the area.

The Subway restaurant opening at 4915 West River Dr. NE in Comstock Park will be the first location in Michigan to showcase the new Subway Fresh Forward design.

The unveiling will be on Aug. 17 at 9 a.m.

The new Subway in Comstock Park will feature self-ordering kiosks, designated pre-order pick-up areas, free Wi-Fi, USB charging ports, outdoor seating, a drive-thru, new ingredients on the menu and more.

“Elevating the overall customer experience has been and continues to be a key focus of ours,” said Ron Thebo, franchisee of the Subway location. “We’re giving our guests more of what they love about Subway…while providing them with modern features that they have not yet seen from us.”

Milford, Connecticut-based Subway, founded in 1965 by Fred DeLuca and Dr. Peter Buck, is a family owned franchise.

There are 212 Subway restaurants in the Grand Rapids area.

The chain serves more than 41,000 locations in more than 100 countries.
