Downtown hosting QuiltWeek

QuiltWeek weaves 21,000 visitors into Grand Rapids

QuiltWeek is bringing thousands of visitors to downtown Grand Rapids.

DeVos Place will host AQS QuiltWeek on Aug. 16 to 18 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

More than 15,000 people are expected to attend.

The event will feature more than 650 quilts and more than $500,000 in prizes will be awarded for quilting excellence.

AQS QuiltWeek will also feature a series of workshops with some of the top talent in the quilting industry, as well as a merchant mall comprised of 250 booths by local and national vendors.

QuiltWeek is open to the public.

Admission includes access to all special exhibits and the merchant mall.

Single and multi-day passes are available at the event.

For 33 years, the American Quilter’s Society, based in Paducah, Kentucky, has been a voice of quilting inspiration and advice, encompassing all ages, designs and methods.

AQS QuiltWeek events are held in multiple cities nationwide throughout the year.
