A new 40,000-square-foot medical office building is coming to the area.

Grand Rapids-based Vision Real Estate Investment and Byron Center-based e5 Ventures are co-developing a build-to-suit medical office building at 2131 64th St. SW near M-6 in Byron Center, according to Colliers West Michigan today.

The site is near Metro Health Hospital and the Mercy Health Southwest Campus.

Groundbreaking is planned for this fall, and the building’s shell should be completed late next summer.

“This building will support the long-term, continued growth of West Michigan’s thriving health care industry,” said Duke Suwyn, CEO, Colliers West Michigan. “The central location between two medical facilities, combined with a growing demand for medical and professional office space makes (this site) an ideal location for medical and professional offices.”

Extensive landscaping, a boulevard driveway and 200 parking spots will highlight the exterior, while office suites could be 5,000 square feet and up.

Colliers West Michigan will provide leasing services for the co-developers.

The project’s architect is r2 Design Group, and Grand Rapids-based Pinnacle Construction Group will spearhead the construction efforts.

“We think this built-to-suit building will give the surrounding health care organizations more options to expand their offices, and even attract additional health care employers to Byron Center,” said Rick Hapner, lead developer, Vision Real Estate Investment.
