A local medical practice has moved into a new 14,180-square-foot space to accommodate its growth.

Grand Valley Medical Specialists, or GVMS, is leasing the space at 1000 E. Paris Ave. SE in Grand Rapids, moving from its Eastown space at 1900 Wealthy St. SE.

The new location will allow the practice to add physicians and accommodate higher patient volume.

“We chose 1000 East Paris because of its easy access for patients, with convenient parking and drop-off access,” said John Hamersma, co-president, GVMS. “We also hope to support the other specialty practices in the building.”

GVMS officially began seeing patients at the new office in mid-July.

The building is also undergoing interior renovations as part of the move. The renovations include an upgraded common area and restrooms and remodel of what is the GVMS lobby. The renovations are being managed by MBRE Healthcare, who’s the lessor.

“We expect the interior facelift will improve the overall patient and primary care provider’s experience at the medical office,” said Marc Westmeyer, SVP, MBRE Healthcare.

Grand Rapids-based NAI Wisinski of West Michigan helped broker the deal for GVMS, with Mary Anne Wisinski-Rosely and Jason Makowski taking the lead on the relocation project.

GVMS

GVMS says it is one of the oldest and largest independent medical practices in the region, employing 15 doctors and five advanced practice providers.

GVMS provides primary patient care for the entire family, from infants to adults, through its pediatric, family and internal medicine practices.
