Health system appoints president
A health system in the region has named its new president.
Gary Allore will serve in the role for Mercy Health Muskegon, part of Mercy Health, effective immediately, upon the unanimous action by the Mercy Health Muskegon Board of Trustees.
Allore most recently served as regional chief financial officer for Mercy Health.
He replaces Greg Loomis, who retired in June.
"Gary demonstrates passion for the mission of Mercy Health," said board Vice Chair Frank Bednarek, who led the Mercy Health Muskegon Presidential Search Committee. "He has a tremendous leadership style and was undoubtedly the most qualified for the job.”
Allore began at Mercy Health in 1988 as controller for Muskegon General Hospital. He also has held the roles of director of finance for Mercy General Health Partners and chief financial officer for Mercy Health Muskegon.
Allore was a member of the team that developed the business case that led to the approval of Mercy Health Muskegon’s new $271-million medical center.
He holds a bachelor’s in economics and management from Albion College and an M.B.A. from Grand Valley State University.
Roger Spoelman, preisdent and CEO of Mercy Health, said he’s “confident” that Allore will lead Mercy Health Muskegon into an “exciting” future, praising his leadership and experience as “vital” to the ongoing transformation of the health system.
"The next few years will be an exciting time for health care in our community,” Allore said. “Mercy Health has been this community's health care system for the past 115 years, and in this role, I am absolutely committed to partnering with our medical staff, colleagues and community to continue our mission of providing compassionate, personalized, high-quality care for years to come."
