A local fuel distributor has acquired a company in the region.

Grand Rapids-based Crystal Flash said yesterday it purchased Kalamazoo-based Knapp Energy to expand its services in the Lower Peninsula and northern Indiana.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition gives Crystal Flash more than 900 new gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating and lubricant customers.

All of Knapp Energy’s employees will remain.

“We are excited to welcome the customers and team of Knapp Energy into our Crystal Flash family,” said Tom Olive, president, Crystal Flash. “As we continue to expand our footprint, joining with companies that closely align to our purpose and values is very important.”

The deal is Crystal Flash’s eleventh acquisition since 2011.
