West Michigan hospitals rate among top 50 in US

Three hospitals in the region have been rated among the nation’s top 50.

The ratings were given this month by Denver-based Healthgrades, a company that compiles and shares health care information.

Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids and Holland Hospital earned the top 50 ratings for “providing overall clinical excellence across a broad spectrum of conditions and procedures consistently for at least six consecutive years.”

Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming was rated among the top 100 U.S. hospitals for “exhibiting clinical excellence for at least three consecutive years.”

Healthgrades also rated hospitals in numerous categories, recognizing West Michigan hospitals in several of them.
